Background

NIYI OWOLADE (aged 60) is an Ifetedo-born politician and legal practitioner. He has an LLB.(Hons.) His running mate, OPAWUYI BOLAJI ABDULGANIYU (aged 47) holds a B.A. in Education.

Past Records

Niyi Owolade was the Commissioner for Health and Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice under the administrations of former Governors Adebisi Akande and Olagunsoye Oyinlola respectively. The legal practitioner declared his ambition to contest the 2014 governorship election on the platform of the Labour Party and promised to lessen the over-dependence of funds from the federation account but lost the ticket to Fatai Akinbade. However, he secured the governorship candidacy on the platform of the Accord Party.
His main campaign manifesto points are education, agriculture and youth employment.
